Hello! My name is Den. This blog is going to cover a range of dental topics. I am not a dentist or a dental nurse but I have recently undergone a lot of dental treatment. This treatment has given me a great insight into the world of dentistry and I would like to share everything I have learnt with you here. Last year, I developed terrible pain in my mouth. I was diagnosed with severe tooth decay. The dentist removed the problem teeth and then inserted false ones in their place. He also whitened my teeth to improve my smile. I hope you find my blog useful.

If you have a very busy schedule, visiting a dental clinic might not be high on your list of priorities. However, skipping dental appointments can put your oral health at risk. Here are a few reasons why everyone should attend a dental clinic regularly.
1. Prevent Tooth Decay
Some people have the attitude that they only need to go to a dental clinic when they have a toothache so that they can get a dental filling. But did you know that regular dental clinic visits can prevent the need for dental fillings in the first place? Dentists can use fluoride varnish on the teeth of people who are at high risk of fillings to strengthen them against tooth decay. If you get a cavity in spite of this preventative treatment, then getting it filled early, before it starts to cause pain, can prevent the need for more invasive treatments such as root canals or tooth extraction.
2. Prevent Gum Disease
Many people underestimate the seriousness of gum disease. Left unchecked, it can weaken the gums to such an extent that they can no longer support the teeth, spread into the jaw bone and weaken that too, and may even contribute to diseases such as cardiovascular disease.
Visiting a dental clinic regularly, along with daily brushing and flossing, can help to prevent gum disease. If a dentist spots inflammation in your gums, they can prescribe a medicated mouth rinse or other treatments to kill the bacteria causing the inflammation and reduce your risk of developing full-blown gum disease.
3. Be Checked for Oral Cancer
Oral cancer causes symptoms that are unfortunately quite difficult for the average person to spot. For example, it can cause discoloured patches inside the mouth, but checking inside your own mouth is difficult so you might not notice. During a dental clinic visit, a dentist examines your mouth in full, looking out for any tell-tale symptoms of oral cancer. If this condition is diagnosed during its early stages, it can often be successfully treated and cured.
4. Save Money
Preventative dental treatments, such as fluoride varnish or mouth rinses, are typically much less expensive than treatments that are needed once oral health problems have set in. By attending regular appointments at a dental clinic, you could save yourself the cost of a root canal treatment, dental implants, or dentures. These are all great reasons to fit a dental clinic visit into your budget and schedule.
